Le Petit Bleu: A Parisian Cafe Vibe _ New Orleans
Le Petit Bleu is a little storefront on Washington Avenue in the uptown area of New Orleans. This unassuming little shop provides their guests a little slice of Paris right down the Commander’s Palace in the Garden District.
Walking through the street, the café is entered through the shiny lacquered door in blue. The interiors are a combination of blue and white with French décor and detailing. The upholstery of sofa is a combination of navy blue with beautiful flower prints giving a contrast to the over all cyan blue interiors.
The café can accommodate upto 8 to 10 guests at a time. With a self serve condiments station and an Island table with their in-house products for sale. Thus, when the guests step into the cafe, they are in for something bold. With the smells of cappuccinos and fresh crêpes filling the air, one might just feel like they’re stepping into a bustling café in Paris.
Their menu is a wide range providing French delicacies from morning till evening. They serve everything with a New Haute Creole-twist, so the guests can grab French Truck Chicory Coffee with Candied Pecan Biscotti for breakfast, or stop in for lunch for a Cajun Crêpe, made with charred chili boudin, chicken liver mousse, cracklin’, and herb salad.
The cafe by Commander's Palace is a little homage to the Parisian Crêperie. "It's a little jewel box of a Crêperie" says Lally of Ti and Lally the founders.
